An indecent outrageous encounter

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

It happened in our very familiar environment, the bus which almost everyone of us had to take daily. I was happily seating on the bus on my way downtown. At China Town area, a not-too-old old man boarded the bus and took a seat opposite me.

He gave me a [friendly?] smile.

I was thinking, another one, maybe he saw the Orchard NLB mtv, which I was one of the cast. Yesterday, on my day to city, a 20+ year old guy in those civil police uniform also keep turning back at me, and give me one of those friendly looks as if he recognised me. Maybe, I had just got more publicity on the Orchard NLB closing, so I gave this not-too-old old man a weak smile.

He then signalled to me, pat pat the empty seat next to him, and indicated that he would like me to take the seat next to him. Seems like he wanted to chat to me.

Oh no. I am not in the mood to chat. And he looks local, so he will not be lost, and need help with locating his hotel. So, I ignored him.

After a few more moments passed by with me ignoring him, he walked up and helped himself to the seat next to me. He spoked in chinese, and said “Hello. Going home?”.

I just gave a “Ya.”

He was undetered by my unwillingness to talk, and proceeded to asked me, “Where do you stay?”

I replied, “I don’t want to tell to you.”, thinking that it would deter him from furthering the conversation which I was unwilling to continue.

Instead, he seemed to be happy that I was speaking more than a single word and proceeded with saying ”Where do you stay? It is alright to tell me. Are you going to town?”.

I was silent.

He turned his head closer this time, with a light hint of alcohol wafting over, he spoke again. “Ke yi zhuo ai mah?” which translate to “Can make love?”.

What the abcdeg! Dirty old man! I stood up from my seat and moved away. Took a seat away from him and snapped his photographs. No point shouting at him on the bus, as he will only be at most humiliated on a bus with no more than 5 persons. So, here are his photographs…

This is his side view. He is folding up his arms. The empty seat on his right was where I was seating.

He happily took my previous seat, occupied two seats and put his dirty feets up.

Yes. This is the shot I am waiting for. His full face. Remember him! He is the dirty old man, who will make indecent outrageous question!
