Yes! Today the Bee Movie is opening in the cinema. But, hey hey hey! They are also being sued!
Hmm. Apparently, a cosmetic company, Fort Lauderdale-based Beeceuticals LLC, which sells cosmetics and skin care products made with organic honey presented to the movie studio their marketing plan and other copyrighted works, including the slogan in Apr and May 2007. The slogan has beforehand been filed for trademark in Oct 2006.
Their claim is for wrongfully used the marketing slogan ‘Give Bees A Chance’, that damaged the company and cost them some people who would have brought from us. Currently, the company attorney said experts were calculating the extent of financial damages caused to the company by the ads.
