Oh yes! Those are the tickets to today’s Singapore Slingers Vs Adelaide 36ers basketball match at Singapore Indoor Stadium. And yes yes! It is at Corporate Box! Thank you, Nicholas, for these tickets!

It is my first close range match, and I was searching around like a tourist for the allocated seats. Heh heh. Don’t pull the taxi trick on me. I am like a tourist, and not a tourist to be fleeced. Anyway, the seats were really close to the front. Wow! The players feel so close. I don’t need a binoculars. And, being in a corporate box, drinks and snacks were provided. There was beer, soft drinks, mineral water, cookies, brownie, and chips. Really really good refreshments.

And yes! As a especial privilege for corporate box ticket holder, I got to visit the VIP lounge and a sumptuous buffet was provided after the two period. The VIP lounge is a nice and cozy place, with a number of comfortable sofa chairs.

Oh yes! The match! Most of the players are really tall! And, Rod Grizzard was very good with scoring. He netted 27 points for Singapore Slingers! Good job! Janev and Knight also did well with 22 points and 16 points respectively.

It was such a close match for the first three quarters. My eyes went left and right and left and right, following the basket balls into the goal post constantly. The match was so closely tied.

However, the referees are really too zealous. They keep interrupting the game by issuing fouls. They seems to have a problem with Mike Helms too. It was so bad that you get the crowd shouting “referee kayu!”. Stamps on eyes referee! There was at least two incidents when the fouls was issued to Singapore Slingers for no good reason. Yes, the Slingers player was next to the 36ers player, but where is the foul? “Referee Kayu!”

These referee bias seems to affect the moral of the Slingers teams and it also caused the start of the lead for the 36ers in the fourth quarter with the points gained from fouls shots. The 36ers in return of the referee bias, earned lots of boos from the crowd whenever they score, and especially for the “Referee Kayu!” fouls shoots.

The match, ended finally with 111-93, with Adelaide 36ers winning. But, as it is home ground, it is the Singapore Slingers, who almost got mobbed by their fans at the end.

And oh yes, we were joined by Precious, SimplyJean, Me Me Me (Alice In Wonderland), Nic, Sabrina, MissCell and Andy. Ops… where is the group photograph???
