Remembering
Library at Orchard
Forever…

Library@Orchard will be closing on 30 Nov 2007. It will cease to exist in our future, as the rental will be increased beyond an acceptable rate for a public facility. While we say farewell to the physical library, I hope to keep a digital memory of the library for both you and me. As such, I have captured numerous 360 degree view at different spots of the library. Each of this spot can be viewed individually using Quicktime movie player. (Each of the file is around 1-2+MB.)
Click on the following spot numbers to download the Quicktime movie file.
Spot 1 Spot 2 Spot 3 Spot 4 Spot 5
Spot 6 Spot 7 Spot 8 Spot 9 Spot10
Spot11 Spot12 Spot13 Spot14 Spot15
Spot16 Spot17 Spot18 Spot19 Spot20
Spot21
Alternatively, click on each of the following still sitched images to enjoy their respective full 360 degree view using Quicktime movie player.

Woah… I’m impressed!!! What an excellent way to “save” library@orchard in a graphical way. Can’t wait to see what else you captured.
@Ivan: Thanks.
Just finished 6 more spots. Enjoy.
Wow… very well done! Must be hard work! Excellent. Good job!
@Miccheng: Thanks.
Finally completed all the 21 spots.
Alice, I was telling my colleagues about this post. Oh, is it possible for you to cut a CD for the library? I’ll give you a blank CD in return
If not, no worries. Can always download it. I’m just asking.
@Ivan: Sure.
I can cut a high resolution version for the library and will bring it tomorrow during the “Moving On” party. The ones on this site are low resolution.

OH SNAP.
Heres a hug for your effort. This is too cool for words!
Nice. How did you do it? Can teach?
@Karen: Thanks. Hug!
@Ian Timonthy: Thanks. I am using the software PhotoStitch that is part of the Canon Ixus V3 software utilities. It allows the creation of 360 degree views. However, this software has been taken out of the software utilities for newer Canon compact camera.

Wow. Love what you did! Now I won’t forget this place for a long time more.
cool. i like the idea and the whole execution. must have took quite some time aye?
initially, i had wanted to do something similar – start from one end of the lib until the other end, then stitch all the pics together to form somewhat like a ‘How the Library will look if it was built in a straight line’. But oh well, easier said than done. so, yeah, *salute*.
@Claire: Thanks. Really starting to miss the library. At least, now I can look at the clips.
@tmax: Thanks. *Salute back* It took a week of all my free time. Actually, I also wanted to do the straight line version in addition to the 360 degree version, but as you said it is much harder than expected.
